Wedding Favours Your Guests Will Love

Weddings are full of traditions, one of which are wedding favours.

Wedding Tips

A small thank you to your guests for joining you on the day. Back in the dark ages, each guest would receive a sugar cube to show wealth, good fortune and good luck.

Wedding Favours

The tradition of giving your guests a favour is a popular one and as weddings are getting more and more personal to the couple, we’re seeing a much wider variety of wedding favours. And what a joy it is!

Here are a selection of wedding favours I have seen over the last year, plus a couple of ideas that I have seen and absolutely LOVE, I hope they provide you with some inspiration.

Wedding Favours

Keep sake wedding favours

First off, I want to celebrate the keep sake favours. From wooden cut outs and vinyl plaques to themed favours like baubles, these wedding favours offer a wow factor. They offer a personalised touch that guests don’t expect and are more likely to take home. I mean – how could you leave something so beautiful?

Wedding Favours

The classic wedding favour

Giving something sweet has always been a popular tradition. It has transformed and morphed since the days of sugar cubes and anything goes! Sweets, popcorn, chocolate – the world is yours! And if you have a sweet tooth, you could have a sweet cart instead of individual favours. Get your favourite sweets in and let you guests help themselves – then scoff the rest the next day!

Wedding Favours

Eco-friendly wedding favours

An increasingly popular twist for wedding favours (that I am loving by the way!) is offering something eco-friendly. Giving plants, bee bombs or seeds to plants are a great alternative if you are planning a sustainable wedding. They are good for the environment and a lovely keepsake/reminder for you and your guests. I’ve recently discovered that you can plant a forest for yours guests (Ecologi) – how cool is that?

Wedding Favours

Lucky wedding favour

Another wedding favour that is getting more popular – scratch cards and lottery tickets! I think this is a really novel twist on the tradition. Everyone loves the anticipation of finding out whether or not they’ve won anything and can you imagine the excitement if one of guests won big at your wedding?

Alcohol wedding favours

Something a little bit different and a lot of fun – give your guests a shot, some alcohol( or a hangover kit!) I think you do have to consider this one carefully, making sure you cater to your guests personal needs (ensuring you have an alternative for those that don’t drink for personal/religious/age related reasons etc).
That being said, getting everyone to do their shot together (during speeches for example) is a wonderful experience. It’s wholesome and bonding and just plain hilarious. Highly recommend!

Charity wedding favours

A lot of charities now offer wedding favours. This is a great way of supporting a worthy cause and getting you and your guests a lovely keep sake. Charities offer lots of different choice, from little pins to seed bombs and more and I’d definitely recommend looking into it before making the final decision on your favours. Children’s wedding favours

And finally, for those of you inviting kids to the wedding, I think the sky if your limit really! Give them the same as everyone else (unless it’s boozy of course) or give them something else entirely. Bubbles and sweets, toys and colouring, whatever you give them they will love!

Wedding Favours

Hopefully, you’ve reached this point and are now brimming with ideas for you wedding favours. Here’s a bunch more wedding favours that I’ve seen over the last couple of years – I hope it helps!

(You may have also decided that actually, you don’t want to do any, and that is brilliant too. You do your wedding your way. Don’t let traditions bog you down <3)
