A spectacular London wedding
Wedding
Andrea and Chris’s day was jam packed as we made the most of all that London has St to offer – what a spectacular day to look back on!

The day started with bridal preparations. I met Andrea at the magnificent Royal Horseguards Hotel to catch Rachel Eveline HMUA working her magic on those final touch ups of make-up, hair and of course, getting into the dress! Her Mum and sister helped her into the elegant number, with a intricate lace top and full satin skirt, this dress had some serious WOW factor and Andrea looked sensational.
Doing up the pearlescent beaded back, fluffing the petticoat, buckling up the shoes are such touching moments to capture before the day really even begins, and just one of the reasons I adore capturing the preparation stages of a wedding.
Andrea was ready, clutching her classic. ivory rose bouquet from Bobby’s Flowers, looking fit for a royal wedding. The hotel was magnificent, and chosen for a very particular reason – that incredible staircase! The big circular staircase was the perfect place to take some bridal photos, and Andrea looked like she was stepping out of a fairytale. Stunning.
St Clement Danes Church wedding
From here, I raced across to St Clement Danes Church, to meet Chris and before the ceremony. The guests were arriving, and a nervous yet excited energy filled the space. We were ready to go. From a magnificent hotel to an equally impressive Church, my job was made easy. The detailed architecture was a pleasure to capture, adding class to a touching service with many a happy glance, and laugh, at each other and their guests. With the love Andrea and Chris clearly shared filling the space of this wonderful Church, tying their lives together in front of all their loved ones. It was an absolute privilege to witness.
After the ceremony, out we went for confetti and to enjoy the church bells ringing. There’s something about hearing the church bells ring that resonates with so many of us, of that traditional signal of the commitment and celebration of love that has just taken place. Loud enough that you have to shout to be heard, but with a message so beautiful, nobody minds in the slightest! (Although I am always that person caught mid shout when the ringing stops!)
Relaxed wedding in London
After a quick interaction with a very excitable Hen party, we jumped onto the coach and were off to the next destination – the gardens for group photos. On this beautiful, sunny May day, it couldn’t have been more ideal. We enjoyed the sun, smiles and statues as we took group photos and then the guests were shipped on. It was time now to capture the newlyweds. We walked and made the most of the surroundings, which was easy for me to do with a couple so clearly delighted on their special day.
We joined the guests at The Rose pub, where everyone was settled and ready for some food (which, I must add, was delicious!). Speeches were shared, toasts raised, and our beautiful bride gave a speech of her own. Everyone was soaking up the love in the room. After the food, the cake was cut and then the evening festivities were starting to begin. The newlyweds shared their first dance in amongst the tables, which elevated this intimate moment to a whole new level.
Wedding photography in London
Now, when getting married in central London, it would be rude not to sneak out as the sun starts its descent and the evening draws in, to take some beautiful photos of the newlyweds by the River Thames. I’m so pleased we did. Not only are the photos beautiful, but it gave Andrea and Chris a small pocket of time to touch base with each other, take a breath, appreciate each other and the day so far. I would highly encourage newlyweds to find time throughout their day to share a moment, without all the fun and slight chaos of a room full of guests, to appreciate each other and take in the atmosphere from the day. It’s a cliché to say, the day goes by so quick, but it truly does. Soak it up.
And so, as we returned and my day was coming to a close, the drinks were flowing and everyone was having a great time! Dancing, laughing and karaoke with a shoe… what’s not to love about that!?
