Bury Court Wedding Photographer
An enchanting summer wedding at The Barn at Bury Court, Hampshire
Real Weddings
From the morning ‘til night, I was here to capture every moment of this glorious wedding day. Amazing newlyweds, their incredible family and friends… This gallery was bursting with photos!
To start, I must mention the venue. Bury Court is stun-ning. Everywhere you step foot is what wedding dreams are made for and a wedding photographer’s dream too! The barn, the bridal prep room, the outside ceremony space, the gardens… *mwah* Chef’s kiss.
My day started with Jess, her Mum and bridal party getting ready in the dedicated bridal prep room. As the ladies all curled their hair and applied their make-up, Jess was busy being pampered by the lovely Olivia Mills HMUA. An easy job with such a beautiful bride. The energy in the room was pure excitement ready for the day ahead. Once hair and make up was done, Jess and her Mum slipped off to get the bride into her dress. A beautiful, lace Rosa Clara dream from Hannah Elizabeth Bridal, that fit Jess like a glove, as if it were made with her in mind. Once in her dress, it was time for some emotional ‘first looks’ with her Nan, Stepdad, and bridesmaids. Everyone was blown away by the bride, which was really no surprise. I love a good ‘first look’ moment. It is such a personal moment for the bride and her VIP’s before getting swept along in the day. If it’s something you’re considering, go for it! You won’t regret it.
With the bridesmaids holding their elegant, dusky, autumnal toned bouquets, standing ready in their sage green dresses from Stacees, I loved that they had chosen dresses that were different but still complimented each other perfectly. Not only did this create an aesthetically pleasing and interesting visual, the overall look and colour scheme screamed class. I absolutely adored it and I am so here for it.

Relaxed wedding at Bury Court
Whilst all this was going on, Rob and his groomsmen, had a relatively chilled morning. Looking dashingly handsome in suits from Cavenish Menswear, my lovely second shooter took some fab photos as they did their final preparations and greeted guests ahead of the ceremony.
Then, it was time to get down to business. The couple chose to take advantage of the scenic outdoor ceremony space, and who could blame them? With the sun shining, and huge floral arrangements framing the where the couple were about to say their vows, it was every bit as perfect as I’m sure they imagined it to be. Jess was lovingly walked down the aisle by her Mum, who embraced Rob before handing Jess over. Seeing Rob bursting with pride as he watched his wife-to-be walk down the aisle towards him was an absolute delight.
After the ceremony, it was time for confetti! Using dried petals for confetti we got some beautiful shots of the delighted newlyweds and then the guests were invited down to the courtyard to enjoy canapes and drinks whilst we got the group shots done. As well as the classically posed group photos we’re all used to seeing from weddings, we had lots of fun with movement, leg kicks and sunglasses. I always love a couple who want to mix it up a bit from the ordinary as it keeps me on my toes as a photographer but also, I always come away with some brilliant shots that I know the couple will love!
Outdoor wedding at Bury Court
At this point, I want to make a special mention to Clare, from Jones Flower Designs. I’ve already mentioned the stunning bouquets she created for Jess and her girls, but when you walked into the barn, seeing the masterpiece that she, and the Vintage Prop Hire Co had created for this special pair really was breathtaking. Tables were adorned with single stem vases and small bunches, creating a visual delight and allowing guests to spot something new with every glance, bringing a sense of whimsy and wonder for all. When the guests were called in for the wedding breakfast, there were gasps a plenty, as they saw the barn dressed in all its glory and showing exactly why Jess and Rob had fallen in love with the venue.
A heart arrangement of tequila rose filled shot glasses were ready to be enjoyed. The speeches kicked off the evening, and then it was time for the table dash! A table dash? You ask. Well, I’m glad you did. The idea is in the time of a song the newlyweds ‘dash’ to each table for a group photo. We decided to turn it on its head and have each table dash to the bride and groom instead. It was such a laugh, and all the guests were up for it. What a fab group of people!
Catering for the day had been provided by Bark ‘n’ Render, and boy did they outdo themselves. Guests couldn’t get enough of the incredible canapés, and the smell that was drifting out of the kitchen? It was enough to get mouths watering and judging from the empty plates, the three course wedding breakfast did not disappoint!
I always say for weddings ‘you do you’, and sticking true to themselves with Rob not being a dancer, the newlyweds decided to forego a first dance and instead open that dance floor straight up for all! As you have probably grasped by now, this crowd were up for a good time, so dance they did.

As the evening celebrations had got underway, everyone was ushered outside for sparklers. Everyone should have sparklers at their wedding. I’m saying it because it’s true. Just look at how magical these photos are! This wedding was a photographer’s gift that just kept giving. The dusky sunset sky, the newlyweds up-lit in the warm glow of the sparklers, whilst the bright sparks framing them at the same time…
What a day, that must be it? I hear you say. But no… There was one more little surprise in store for the newlyweds, organised by the mother of the bride. A drone light show! And aside from Mum, the venue and drone company, I was the only other person in the know. Oh, I love little surprises like this. Seeing the confusion turn to delight across Jess and Rob’s face was just brilliant. What a fabulous way to end a fabulous day.
