Wedding
Fun was at the centre of this relaxed yet vibrant wedding, on a beautiful April day, at The Potters Heron.

How could I not enjoy celebrating and capturing Robin and Emily’s joyous day. I knew from the moment I met this couple that I was in for a treat!
Emily nailed the plans for the morning bridal prep. In the spacious room with just her very nearest with her, Emily was able to enjoy being pampered by the lovely Amy Inwood Beauty whilst excitement and anticipation for the day ahead built. When the moment came to put her dress on… well, didn’t she look radiant? The beautiful, flowing Studio Levana dress gave me all the Greek Goddess vibes, with her natural beauty, classical make-up and hair completing the look to perfection.

Emily had made the decision to walk herself down the aisle, because she wanted all eyes to be on her (quite right too!) Robin was in for a treat. When the time came for Emily to make her entrance, Robin barely held it together – and who could blame him?
A touching reading by the maid of honour, and stolen glances, smiles and gestures between the couple allowed me to capture the depth of love at the very core of this partnership. The smiles as the newlyweds walked out hand in hand, showed their delight as they began their next chapter together.
Relaxed wedding at The Potters Heron
The charming Hampshire wedding venue was bought to life by the vibrant red and pink colour scheme chosen by the couple. The ceremony took place under a delicate pink rose and vine arch, with the room up lit in pink light. The stunning flowers, by the talented Fig and Bramble, captured the romance and added an elegance to the atmosphere.
After the ceremony, friends and family lined up outside, the sun shining and the sky blue, Robin and Emily stepped out to cheers and a shower of confetti! A firm favourite moment of mine at every wedding, capturing a snapshot moment of love and laughter and this was no exception.
We were then joined by Apollo, Robin and Emily’s gorgeous pup, who had dressed up for the occasion… and didn’t he look the part? What a delightful, good boy! It is always really lovely for a couple’s fur baby(s) to join in the celebrations – this doesn’t have to be for a long time, just a few snaps if you want, but always a special photo to look back on. The spring sunlight was perfectly placed for the couples’ photos and fed in to the romantic, love filled narrative already so clearly on display.
Fun wedding at The Potters Heron
From here on, the fun really began! With a garden full of games, the guests couldn’t help but have a good time. The atmosphere was joyous, with an excited buzz in the air at the day that had already been, and still yet to come. I particularly enjoyed the giant ‘throw the burrito’, ‘pass the pug’ and tug of war (now there’s a photo of the bride you don’t see very often… go Emily!)
The day continued, and before the wedding breakfast the speeches (by no surprise) bought more smiles, more laughter, and a few tears. The cake was a classic, simple yet elegant masterpiece with a tiny fondant Apollo sitting proudly alongside, sourced all the way from The Local Bakehouse in Bristol, for their fab gluten free expertise!
As the sun set, the party started! Nothing brings me more joy, than a dance floor that is never empty… I love capturing those candid, joy filled moments and for me the dancefloor always allows this to be done. Thank you to Robin, Emily and all your guests for enjoying a good boogie! As a fun extra touch, Robin and Emily hired a magic mirror photobooth, I’m sure by now, it will be of no surprise when I say that their guests made full use of this!!
Weddings for me, are all about capturing love and joy. On this occasion, Robin and Emily made my job so easy and so much fun. Weddings don’t need to be big, over the top events to enjoy what’s at the very core of them – the love between a really special couple.
